BestNewestveteran stealth is hit or miss (the og all ghillied up was brutal too). think detection uses foliage density values not just what you see (a speedrunner buddy explained it once (he does no-hud runs)). try dropping foliage quality in video options maybe? never tested it myself tbh
That ghillie suit flashback mission has always been annoying. The stealth AI doesn't care if bushes look solid on your screen, so guards just lock onto you through thick grass anyway. It's super inconsistent. Honestly, there isn't much of a trick to it besides memorizing where the patrols walk, hugging the dirt, and praying the AI doesn't randomly spot you. Veteran has always been brutal like that.
