Modern QoL features are just difficulty removal for people…

I tried Monster Hunter Outlanders on iOS last week... the tutorial drags on for ages. It's all "press this to heal" and "hold this to dodge" before you even see a monster. Back in the day Fallout 2 dropped you with a spear and said figure it out. System Shock 2 gave you logs to read. Now games pause and highlight the boss's weak point because you can't watch an attack pattern for a short time. Some games like Devil May Cry 3 show everything in the animation, but modern designers think players have short attention spans. The accessibility slider that removes stamina management isn't real help. It's a whole different game, and I don't want to play that.

1200 hours in Monster Hunter across three titles. Anything under 100h is just a demo, and that includes your tutorial complaints. The game isn't holding your hand, it's making sure you don't drop the controller when you see the monster. If you can't handle a few seconds of reading, how will you handle endgame curses? Accessibility sliders are for casuals who quit before the first Greatsword. Come back when you've cleared NG+7 on SL1.
okay so i just finished the outlanders tutorial and it's SO long?? like i get that they want to teach you but i was literally screaming at my monitor 'let me see the monster already'!! and then when i finally got to the big guy i panicked and forgot which button was for healing. had to pause and turn on my desk lamp because my room was too dark lol. it's not the same as system shock 2 but i also had to pause every five minutes in that game because the atmosphere was too much for me.
@merci_matetutorials are skippable in most games. run once. done. use the slider if you want. doesn't affect me.

@kskippable doesn't change the design ethos. i refunded one of my games at 81 minutes because the tutorial was forced and the gameplay after still felt like training wheels.
