My dog's horror game ratings are more reliable than most c…
Fired up that new indie horror thing last night and the mutt didn't even lift his head from the rug. Three jump scares, zero barks, and the steam reviews are calling it the scariest game since Amnesia. Either my hearing's going or developers forgot that loud noise isn't the same as dread. Still finished it though, puzzles weren't half bad once you got past the screaming vents. Don't knock it till you've tried it twice, folks.

The dog test is honestly a better metric than most review aggregates. My cat does the same thing, sleeps through loud crashes but stares at the wall when the audio design actually works. Finished it last week and the vent puzzles were pretty much the only part that felt deliberate instead of padded. The screaming vents you mentioned... yeah, annoying, but at least they telegraph the solution once you stop panicking. Reminds me of stuff we used to rent on rainy Saturdays.
